“Lean Forward”
Flight. Oh how much I would love that. To be able to fly. To step off the ground and go.
Imagine a park bench. Climb and stand on top of it. Move your feet to the edge. Hold up your arms. Close your eyes…and lean forward.
Pause. Capture that very image in your mind.
Suspended between the flight and fall. Outstretched hands, eyes closed, leaning forward. Your tip-toed feet are still touching the bench. You know that if you push the play button again…you either fly or fall.
Life is like that.
But it’s the question that stops us. Will I really fly or will I just fall to the ground?
Fear keeps you from moving. Keeps your feet grounded. Keeps you from getting hurt.
You can stay where you are. Stagnant. Inactive. Motionless. Safe. Safe from the pain of falling. Safe from the unknown.
Life will just pass you by.
Or you can take a risk. Try to fly. Try to fall.
Go. Move. God can’t use you if you don’t take a step. The cuts and bruises of the falls are worth it. The chances to fly and let God use you are worth it. Make the choice.
Trust Him. He’ll never let you go. Fly and He’ll guide you. Fall and He’ll pick you up.
So go ahead. Lean forward.
Whether you fall or fly, At least you’re going somewhere. |
